Paris Hilton Busted in Vegas for Cocaine

According to CNN:

Paris Hilton was released from a Las Vegas, Nevada, jail Saturday morning after being arrested late the night before on suspicion of cocaine possession, police said Saturday. The hotel heiress was riding in a black Cadillac Escalade which was pulled over in front of the Wynn Hotel on the Vegas strip at about 11:30 p.m. after police detected the smell of marijuana coming from the SUV, Lt. Wayne Holman told CNN.
The driver, who police did not identify, was arrested for driving under the influence, he said.
Hilton was taken to the Clark County jail. She was released after authorities determined she was not a flight risk, Holman said.

Last month, Hilton was briefly detained in South Africa for allegedly smoking marijuana at the World Cup. Her publicist called the July 2 incident "a complete misunderstanding," and the case was dropped.

GayLA says... Paris, you're so 1980s.

Hater Alert! Hater Alert! Bible Thumpers Praying For Gays

Here is a revolting example of holier-than-thou bible thumpers having nothing to do but harass gay people - blaming them for all the evil in the world. This lame group of weaklings came out to pray in front of a gay couple's home in Leslieville, Toronto up in Canada. The awesome news is that all the neighbors came out and chased the God-fearing idiots out of the neighborhood.

"We have an authority to preach the gospel," claims one worshipper in a video clip (above) captured by nearby resident Geoffrey Skelding. "We've been doing this seven years."

These holy-rollers were from the commissary at Highfield Road Gospel Hall. The guy who shot the video and posted it on You Tube writes:

"This is a group from a church at the end of my street. Apparently they have been grouping in front of a couple's house and reading their bible loudly for the past 7 years. They may have also driven another couple from the area as well by doing the same thing. Tonight most of our neighbors came out and were successful in getting them to leave. The people who go to that church don't even live in our area! Police came by shortly thereafter."

Watch this video. If you have a weak stomach for the lowest form of life... have a barf bag handy. Because these folks will make you want to vomit. Ironically, it's these religious freaks who spread the most hatred one can find out there.

New Los Angeles High School Costs $578 Million - Is It Worth It?

The most expensive public school in U.S. history is about to open it's doors in Los Angeles. The new Robert F. Kennedy Community School is causing quite a stir. It will combine grades K-12.

AP reports one member of the California Board of Education saying: "New buildings are nice, but when they're run by the same people who've given us a 50 percent dropout rate, they're a big waste of taxpayer money."
It's pretty over the top.  But it will give a lot of laid-off teachers their job back. "Nationwide, dozens of schools have surpassed $100 million with amenities including atriums, orchestra-pit auditoriums, food courts, even bamboo nooks."
What do you think? I'm kinda digging the thought of a food court.

Meg Whitman Will Support Ban on Gay Marriage If Elected Governor

Republican Meg Whitman says she'll support California's Proposition 8 ban on gay marriages if she's elected governor.

The proposition was approved by California voters in November 2008 and requires that all marriages in the state be between opposite-sex couples. A district court has ruled the law unconstitutional, and an appeals court is now examining its validity.

According to the Sacramento Bee, Whitman said on Friday: "The issue right now is, as I understand it, is 'Will Proposition 8 have the appropriate support to actually make an appeal to the Circuit Court of Appeals?'
"And I think the governor, the attorney general today has to defend the constitution and has to enable the judicial process to go along and has to enable an appeal to go through," she continued. "So if I was governor, I would give that ruling standing to be able to appeal to the circuit court."

Whitman is running against current Democratic Attorney General Jerry Brown to succeed Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
