Dr. Laura AND Sarah Palin Just Don't Get It

Dr. Laura thinks it's okay to use the "N" word, as long as black men are using it on HBO or in rap songs.  She claims if that's acceptable that they use it, she can use it. Well, it is acceptable when they use it. The fake doctor just doesn't get it.

As a gay man, I can tell you that me and my friends call each other all sorts of things - "Hey, girl."  Or maybe "Where do you fags want to go after this?"  Or we refer to one of our friends as "She".  This is out of affection and, strangely enough, we are playing with the words that have been used to hurt us for years.  But I can tell you that if I am in a room full of straight men and one of them calls me a "Fag" or a "Girl" it will not only piss me off - there will be a huge problem.

So you see, it's the same thing when you use the "N" word. African Americans can use the word in jest or just as an affectionate way to kid with each other. But a white guy can't walk around using it.  The same thing goes for comedians. A black comedian can make jokes about people of color. But I challenge a white comedian to do a Chris Rock routine. He will not only bomb, all hell will break loose.

Jewish people can make fun of themselves, but no one will be laughing if an Asian guy starts making jokes about Jews.

So fake Dr. Laura, if you're reading this... NO you cannot call gay people "fags" or "girl". NO you can't use the "N" word. I believe, however, you are Jewish... so have at it.

Our boy Ricky Martin has a new book on the way. I't entitled "Me".

According to USA TODAY's Cindy Clark, "... the Grammy-Award winning artist opens up for the first time about his early childhood, his experiences as a member of the boy band Menudo, and coming to terms with his sexuality. Martin also talks about being a father and his work with children around the world."

Dr. Laura Calling It Quits - About Time!

After her controversial remarks last week and the huge backlash, Dr. Laura Schlessinger has announced that she's quitting her syndicated radio show. She claims people are stifling her first amendment right to free speech. No, Laura... you're a biggot and showed your true colors. And frankly, it's about time you hang it up.

So let's give the queen of mean a proper sendoff. See the picture to your left, Dr. Laura. It's all for you, baby.

And by the way, she's not even a licensed psychologist. She got her PhD in physiology.

Gay Marriages on Hold Until December

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit just announced that they are keeping the stay in place of Judge Walker’s historic decision striking down Proposition 8.

This means that, regrettably, same-sex couples will have wait longer to get married and are still being denied their fundamental right to do so.

This is not the end – far from it. The appeals process still needs to play out, and the court is expediting the process. The case is expected to be heard in December.
We need to work together to do what it takes to ensure a favorable outcome. Here’s what you can do:
1. Email the Governor and Attorney General and urge them to stand strong against the attacks they are receiving from anti-LGBT groups.
2. Make a donation to elect a governor and attorney general who will refuse to defend Prop. 8 in court.
3. Volunteer in your area. We are building on the majority support we have, which is so critical to winning marriage back, either in the court or at the ballot box.
