Los Angeles Gay Pride is Upon Us

Wow! Time flies... why it just seems like a year ago we were celebrating her in Los Angeles another Gay Pride. And here we are again. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Gay Pride here in LA. Festivities will be taking place in West Hollywood. The Christopher West Gay Pride Festival opens Friday night and goes all the way until late Sunday evening.

The parade is a MUST see on Sunday. Get a good spot because Santa Monica Blvd. from Fairfax to Doheny fills up quickly. All kinds of partying going on at all the clubs as well as inside the festival. You have to buy tickets to get into the festival. For my money, the parade is the fun part as are the parties at various bars, clubs and people's homes.

The New iPhone Features Video Phone Chat!

Good Lord! Apple has once again outdone themselves. The new iPhone is about to be released. You can actually reserve yours beginning June 15, 2010. The features that are freaking me and others out are the LIVE VIDEO CALLING. You can actually see the person you are talking to - assuming they, too, like everyone on the planet will have an iPhone.

Then, there's the HD Video, the thinner phone... multi-tasking (using multiple apps at once - WHY?). So it seems I jut got my 3Gs and now like everyone else... I  WANT the 4!

Steve Jobs announced the new phone today during his keynote at the iOS 4 conference. The new iPhone 4 will also feature a larger battery that will offer 40% more talk time than the previous model. And you will be able to edit video right on the phone with iMovie for iPhone.

Oh and a camera lens on the front of the phone for those all-important self portraits.

Elton Sells Out to Rush Limbaugh

Even Sir Elton John held back his gag reflex. This to the tune of a million bucks from Rush Limbaugh, we hear. Yes, it's true - Elton John swallowed his pride (and who knows what else...) and actually performed this past Saturday at the fat bastard's fourth wedding in Florida.  I guess no matter how rich and famous you are, a million bucks is a million smackeroos.

Hopefully Andy Cohen will give Elton his well-deserved Jackhole of the Week for playing at Rush's wedding. Don't know how this didn't make more of a news splash, but now you know.

And that's why they call it the blues...

TGIF - Let's Meet At A Happy Hour in West Hollywood

Now that was a fast week! Thanks to Memorial Day, Friday seemed to get here a lot quicker! The oil is still spewing into the gulf, and there's still so much not right with the world... but hey, we're here. You're queer. So let's hit some of the best Happy Hours in town.

Micky's in West Hollywood has great drink specials ($4 well drinks!) and HALF OFF their appetizer menu from 4-9 p.m.!!! Always lots of fun and the best eye candy (both hired and patrons).  See you there - Micky's 8857 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood.

There's also Eleven Restaurant & Nightclub (Psst! Stick w/ the Nightclub bar aspect), which is just a couple doors down from Micky's at 8811 Santa Monica Blvd.  They, too, feature a happy hour. Unfortunately, their website doesn't fully explain it, but safe to say it's between 4 and 8 as well with $5 appetizers.

And there's always the Abbey Food & Bar. Consistently VERY CROWDED and MIXED (gay + straight). Indoor/Outdoor drinking, eating, etc.  Their happy hour cuts short at only from 5-7 p.m. Abbey also features everything $5 drinks & appetizer menu. 692 N. Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood.
