Eleven in West Hollywood FAILS Again

We tried to give Eleven Nightclub and Restaurant (?) another chance. We really did. This place in West Hollywood doesn't know what it wants to be.  Is it a bar? A nightclub? A restaurant?

One thing it is for sure is BAD.  In this troublesome economy, you would think any smart business would be on their best behavior to capture the few dollars that are still out there.  The last time we visited Eleven, they were boasting 1/2 price drinks. The guy at the door told us even premium drinks.

We ordered Mojitos. When they charged us full price, we were told they were "specialty" drinks. No, I'm not kidding.

So like I said, we wanted to give them another chance. It's Saturday, July 24, 2010. Starving, we entered and went directly to a table, as no one greeted us or sat us.  And that's what we did for nearly 15 minutes. Just sat and watched the bartenders and staff chat with each other. The host strut past us easily five times, never once paying us any mind.  I kept saying, "Someone will come soon."  But no... they all just kept chatting. And the place was quite empty. Only a handful of tables had customers.  What else do you do but leave? Yes, we could have hunted down a waiter or the manager, but to me... I don't want to eat or drink at a place that doesn't acknowledge me. AND if it was real busy, I'd understand. But it was dead... which should have been the giveaway.

On the way out, the snooty host asked me what was wrong? I told him and he was so shocked. "What table were you at?" he asked, as he pretended to care - crooking his neck to look inside at our empty table.  "I didn't see you guys," he added.

Exactly, douchebag.

Fail me once, shame on you. Fail me twice... shame on me.
