Have you ever thought about how many summers you've experienced during your lifetime? Go ahead - say it out loud. It's kind of shocking.
Me, I've only experienced 48 summers in my lifetime. The first began the month I was born. As I write this, it is the first week of my 49th summer. It never occurred to me before. Such a small number. Only forty-nine summers.
No wonder they seem so precious. Live a good, long life and you'll be lucky to experience 80 or 90 of them.
